2009 – now Independent consultant and interim manager.

2007-2009 Operations Manager Ambient Experience within Philips Healthcare Best (NL). Responsible for setting up the global operational activities of the Ambient Experience Business Unit in line with Philips policies and being cost effective. As this is a start up activity preparations for an own SAP system are executed and a business case has been made together with IT applications. All operational activities are outsourced to partners inside and outside Philips.

2004-2007 Senior Manager Logistics within Philips Medical Systems, MCR EMEA (NL), Sales and Services. Responsible for integral logistics meaning order realisation, re-sale purchasing, export control, approve IT changes and process improvements. Due to acquisitions and direct deals with sensitive countries, frequent contacts with Legal/Fiscal. Implemented the new One Logistics set up (21 FTE’s), where all PMS modalities are handled by one person to have one face to the customer. This meant also integrating the two sap systems and coming to one way or working. Other improvement projects were: the POPO project (purchases order execution to Shared Service Centre in Poland), Electronic Signing Tool implementation, warranty contract registration, Field Service Engineer sales.

2002-2004 Senior Business Engineer Best (NL), Philips Medical Systems global customer services organisation. Responsible for improving/setting up the communication among (aquired) factories (PMG’s) and sales organisations (SSR/SSD’s) from service business perspective and supporting the organisations with GCS IT tools. Chairman of the Global PMS installed base control board, where changes to installed base IT solutions (DeSyRe) were evaluated and approved. Participated in the global Pyramid project (Siebel).

2000-2002 Commercial Order fulfilment Manager, Philips Sound Solutions Dendermonde (B), Member of the MT and the 2 Business Teams (Automotive & Audio/Video) Scope was factory Dendermonde and subcontracted/ outsourced operations in Hungary/Ukraine. Visited the main European customers, VW, BMW & Toyota. Responsible for order fulfillment, planning, warehousing and distribution (10 direct reports). Major improvements realized via EDI connection with customer Toyota and implementing consignment stock with China supplier, supported by an information systems connection (link to MFG/Pro).

1998-2000 Project Manager Transfers, Philips Ovar (P). Electronic Power Modules, Philips Components. Together with the end customer I introduced successfully 2 mobile phone related products to external subcontractor in China and 3 power supplies (part of Philips DVD player) to Philips Manaus, Brazil, including the customer contacts, development contacts, test equipment, quality aspects (e.g. customer/factory releases), change to new local suppliers (biggest savings), financials and getting the IT systems connected, including having all the correct master data available. As a project manager, I led the multi disciplinary project teams who successfully executed these projects.

1997-1998 International Logistics Manager, Philips BU Video Camera Modules (NL), Philips Consumer Electronics. Responsible in the operational MT of this BU for integral logistics involving our production locations (own factories in Eindhoven & Ovar (P) + outsourced operations via Flextronics in UK and Hungary). Represented the BU VCM into the PD SAP preparation project (done by IBM consultants) to ensure VCM’s business requirements are in and report back status and possible impact (change) to the BU management. Concrete improvement action was to implement a Master Planning tool supported by the diverse CE IT systems (e.g. Gipsy).

1995-1997 Logistics Manager, Philips Industrial Automation Systems (NL), Philips Industrial Electronics (IE). Next to managing the operations I led a new MFGPRO implementation and successfully transferred and outsourced the warehouse from the factory in Kassel (G) to TNT-logistics in Veldhoven (NL) including implementing the needed IT interfaces. Reported directly to the General manager of this small Operating Company (15mio Euros) within the PD IE.

1992-1995 Consultant/Trainer Supply Chain Management, Philips Lighthouse Management Consultants (later KPMG). In this job I developed my basic commercial skills and got consultancy training. During this period I developed and executed training programs and participated in Supply Chain and Quality improvement projects, including how to deal with Change Management. Next to Philips (the biggest customer) I worked for companies like NS, Varta batteries and Akzo Nobel.

1990-1992 ROAG officer Royal Dutch Army; stationed at TNO Defence Research Rijswijk. Implemented commercial project management way of working, including working with agreed deliverables and milestones.

Started with a broad basic education called management sciences (Dutch Bedrijfskunde, TUE) with accents on IT and automation. (Dutch BISA). After this study I’ve worked as a trainer/consultant, project leader and line manager. Now I am looking for interesting challenges, where I can add value and help companies make an improvement journey.
