• Van 1 september 2008 tot heden; door opdrachtgever ingehuurd om de rol van Teamleader ICT tijdelijk te vervullen bij een van hun relaties, dit betreft een groot concern in de automotive industrie. In deze rol heb ik de verantwoordelijkheid over technisch ICT beheer afdeling en aansturing aan 10 FTE. Doel van de opdracht richt zich op handhaving en kwaliteits verbetering dienstverlening. Taken:
o People management,
o Aansturing serverbeheer & werkplekbeheer team,
o Deelname interne projecten,
o Sturen, verbeteren en borgen van operationele processen(ITIL),
o (her)structureren werkzaamheden team,

• Van februari 2008 tot september 2008; werkzaam bij bij groot mediaconcern als Corporate IT manager. Als Corporate IT manager verantwoordelijk voor:
o Managen team systeem- netwerk & servicedesk medewerkers,
o Opstellen jaarplannen + budgetten,
o Onderhoud contacten leveranciers en technologische partners + contract ondehandelingen,
o Project planning + eindverantwoordelijk voor uitvoering,

• Van september tot december 2007 project in samenwerking met Q-Unlimited BV gedaan voor IJsselmeer Ziekenhuizen. Project betrof het Project- en CRM/SLA management voor de implementatie van een web based applicatie voor patiënten die in behandeling zijn bij deze ziekenhuizen.

As Operations manager I was responsible for all teams within the Operations department within Vanco Netherlands, these are
• NMC, consist of 6 people and operating from 8m till 6pm,
• CSA, Implementation engineers, current 5 engineers,
• Provisioning, 2 people,
• Project Management, 2 staff members and
• TDA, 2 design architectures.

On a day to day base my duties and responsibilities are:
• Dealing with operational escalations, this like; problem tickets(incidents on customer networks), provisioning and project issues
• Assigning PM, CSA and TDA to projects and accepting project handover from sales,
• Approving projects and guiding PMs,
• Performing performance reviews and act as people manager,
• Manage processes,
• Deliver reporting to Operations Director,
• Managing headcount and budget,
• Carrier relationship management,
• Being bridge between sales and operations.

Responsibilities and tasks
• Within Vanco I’m responsible for the Implementation team. The responsibility of this team consists of 4 major tasks, these are:
• Rollout of a new customer network, the implementation engineer is technical responsible for the implementation of a new network.
• Moves and changes within customer networks. Each implementation engineer is a so called VPN owner of a set of customers, all changes within this network will be implemented by the engineer.
• 3rd level support. The implementation engineer also provides 3rd level support for his customer towards the 2nd level.
• Provisioning, 2 dedicated persons responsible for line and equipment ordering. Also arranging engineers for installations is part of their job.

Within the team I’m managing 5 engineers and 2 provisioning people. Furthermore as Manager Implementations I’m responsible for; Change- and escalation management, planning of work, interface between sales + service management and operations. Also reporting regarding MAC (moves and changes) towards senior management and process management is part of the job.

Besides the responsibilities explained earlier I also was a Process mentor within Vanco. Being a process mentor means:
• Validate new process and implement (some on project base),
• Give workshops on processes,
• Being point of contact for process issues and join meetings and
• Adjust/create processes were worksituation demands.

The network solutions Vanco offers and thus the Implementation team deals with contain hardware and software platform like; Cisco routers and switches, Juniper Netscreen firewall, Bluecoat proxy, Trendmicro IMSS, IWSS based on Windows or Unix, Packetshapers, etc. During my work at Vanco I also learned a lot about these products by hands-on experience.

Responsibilities and tasks

At The Competence Group I was working as a consulting engineer on project base. Within this role I’m responsible for advising our customers regarding network and system issues. Also implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining networks and systems is part of this job. The projects he did so for were mostly based on (re-)designing and implementing Windows based networks (LAN) including connection(s) to remote offices and/or internet. Also generating new business and looking for new opportunities within existing accounts was part of his job.
During this period he gained a lot of experience with:

• Windows 2000 server and applications running on top of it like: Exchange, internet information server and other applications like Veritas backup. Also network equipment like: Cisco and Alcatel is installed at our customers.

Responsibilities and tasks
In this job responsible for:
• Pre-sales activities within the Service Provider market on dedicated accounts, driving new projects within those accounts and identifying new opportunities.
• Transferring industry, technical and product knowledge to customers and partners as well as participating in technical presentations is part of my job as a systems engineer.

A systems engineer is expected to have an all-round technical knowledge with 2 technical focuses. My focus was on dial/access and Content Networking.

During this period I gained many experience with Cisco product families like; AS5xxx, CSS11xxx, 12xxx, 10xxx, 7xxx and more.

During his job at Cisco I was responsible for several projects. These were all for (large) Service Providers. Please see the details of some projects below:

• Redesign and extension of dial in platform: redesign was necessary as the SP wants to offers Multilink dial in, this in a multi vendor environment. L2TP and a home gateway was implemented. Also routing protocols were change in order to make the network MPLS ready. MPLS migrations was face 2.

• Setting up a caching environment: caching was needed to improve user experience as well as offloading the core network. Caches in combination with load balancers were implemented. This was done at more then one SP.

• Migrating ATM network to a IP (MPLS/VPN) network: In order to offer new services like intra/internet service MPLS/VPN was introduced and finally implemented. Hardware like the Cisco 12000 series has been used for the core and 7500’s for the edge.

• Designing Dial in Pop’s: At several SP’s he designed new dial pops, this as SP’s wanted to introduce business services for their customers or free internet access.

• Redesign core network, migration to CWDM: Together with upgrading this SP wanted to move from SDH to a WDM solution. With the WDM solution new services like Ethernet access could be offered. The CWDM solution was offered and implemented. As hardware we used the Catalyst 4006.

• Organizing workshops:
I’ve organized and gave several workshops for our customers, these were focused on CDN. The workshop contained theory and hands-on.
