GIS DCeS Infrastructure Engineering Manager, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA)
Full Management responsibility at CSC DCeS Extended Board level for delivery of engineering of client / server infrastructure solutions for CSC customers across EMEA. This includes all client / server technologies such as NT, 2000, Unicenter TNG, Lotus Notes, PDA’s, Arcserve Backup, Wise scripting tools, SQLserver, multi-tier architecture, terminal server technology
Full Business Management, and decision making, of Infrastructure engineering across EMEA, including cost management, budget management, staff management (including recruitment, training, reviews, salary management), across multiple programmes.
Implementation of a new delivery organisation, 100+ engineers, successfully delivering multiple, multi-million dollar programmes across multiple countries to key CSC accounts.
Management of third parties, including contract/SLA negotiations, for supply of engineering effort in terms of both people (contractors etc.) and services. Suppliers include ICL, IBM, COMPAQ, Alexander Mann, Microsoft, CA etc.
Implementation of Delivery Centres in several counties, including UK, Denmark, Germany, South Africa, and the Netherlands. These are examples of success stories. These centres were implemented by myself and still form the basis of the Infrastructure engineering for CSC GIS DCeS delivering, using process, tools and methodology implemented by my team to many different clients (Whitbread, BNFL, SCAPA Tapes, UDV, INEOS Chlor, Old Mutual to name but a few)
Design, implementation, and operation of a full process architecture, with interfaces into Global CSC methodologies and toolsets.

Enterprise Management Development Manager
Membership of IT Services Ltd Senior Management Team providing strategic management of a £40m turnover company. Business management example. I responsible for developing, implementing and supporting a Unicenter TNG ESM framework for IT Services customer base. This was done using full business case justification, and was so successful was continued into CSC.
Responsibility for Enterprise Management strategy, toolset development, for IT Services with full managerial control / decision process for the implementation.
Successful recruitment, training, and delivery of a CA Unicenter TNG implementation and support team.

System Support Service Delivery Manager, BNFL Sellafield & Corporate Systems
Membership of IT Services Ltd senior Management Team providing strategic management of a £25m turnover company.
Full responsibility for delivery of Systems and applications Support Services to BNFL Sellafield Site (60+ people £4m+), and BNFL Corporate systems, including new business growth responsibility
Successful Implementation and support Services to BNFL Corporate SAP and Peoplesoft services. Management of third parties, including both SAP, and implementation partners. I won the business for IT Services, writing the proposal to BNFL. I also wrote and implemented the supporting SLA, and underpinning OLA’s and contracts with internal and external suppliers. This was worth in excess of £2m per annum in both direct and indirect sales.
Implementation of Service Delivery to ITIL service model. Management of the implementation and subsequent accreditation of staff of the ITIL service model, including responsibility for the development and support of the IT Services Helpdesk and Service centre.
Management of the IT Services staff development programme under the British Computer Society Professional development Scheme, implementation of a staff structure within IT Services based around the ISM (Industry Structure Model). All Graduate recruits were registered on this scheme, as part of their career development programme.
Responsible for the engineering efforts, budget and business management of ensuring that all BNFL systems under my responsibility (700+) were Y2K compliant. This mean liasing with Third parties, managing the development effort, ensuring appropriate change and code management systems were in place. Also ensuring support services etc. were available over the critical period.

Managing the strategic and technology development within the IT Department as part of the IT service provision to the whole of the Electricity Generation Business (EGB) of BNFL at both Calder Hall and Chapelcross in Scotland. Responsible for support management and delivery to Calder Hall and for management and solution of outward-looking issues faced by EGB. Representation of EGB IT externally and within BNFL and for development of the IT strategy to applied within EGB for both internal and external issues.
Customer focussed development of all business application provision.

Managing an IT Department at Calder Hall as part of the IT service provision to the whole of the Electricity Generation Business (EGB) of BNFL at both Calder Hall and Chapelcross in Scotland.
Design and Implementation of an extensive LAN/WAN within Calder Hall as part of the Sellafield site and between Calder Hall and Chapelcross and external links to trading partners (EGB etc.), including routing and bridging. Design and Implementation of a large local area VAXcluster providing services to EGB. Design and Implementation of an extensive PC based network infrastructure providing Groupware (E-mail, File/Print services, Calendaring/diary etc.), client/server applications based around ORACLE server and CASE products.
Budget/Financial control for the IT service to Calder Hall.
Strategic and tactical development of the IT service to Calder Hall.

Electricity Generation Business, Technical Records Manager
Managing a small department (4 people) providing a Technical Records Service to the Calder Hall Nuclear Power Station.
Implementation of an ORACLE based system for Nuclear Materials accountancy, Electrical Metering for the Sellafield site, including sales of electricity to the CEGB.
Computerisation of most aspects of the Technical Record-keeping for Calder Hall.

Analyst/Programmer, Calder Hall Nuclear Power Station
Providing an analyst/programmer service to the Calder Hall Nuclear Power Station as part the Technical Department in support of Reactor Physics calculations, nuclear materials accountancy and chemical and analytical services. Working mainly in FORTRAN initially on an ICL 2982 mainframe and latterly on a VAX minicomputer.
