1. Experience Review Summary

Harm has learnt to combine a large number of disciplines during his training and his career, such that he always has an integral approach to problem solving.
During his multi-facet career with the government as well as industry, he has developed into a "no nonsense" result oriented program manager and senior consultant with demonstrable examples of successful results.

For a period of 19 years, within the Dutch and international defence organization, he gained general management, project management and teaching experience both at policy and operational level. The above activities took place within a wide scale of disciplines at operational, planning as well as strategic policy level (Army Staff, Ministry of Defence, NATO).
For a period of around 15 years he gained management and senior project- & program management & consultancy experience in:
a leading multinational industrial automotive company;
a leading world-wide logistic service company (distribution logistics/transport
sector); a multinational consultancy company; a leading international ICT
company; a leading international project management company.

2. Management and project experience

1965 - 1985 Royal NL Army/NL Ministry of Defence/NATO

- Within the NL government (defence) he has operated as line and staff official in the following areas:
transport management (sea, inland waterways, rail, road and air), senior logistic management and general business management.
As well as being general manager for a number of military transport and distribution logistics units/depots, he has also gained wide experience at strategic policy level of general logistics and transport management. Concurrently, for a period of three years, he was the Dutch representative within a number of NATO boards and committees and involved in bilateral discussions with American (US), British, German, Belgian and Italian forces on general operational, logistic and transport policy matters.
He also held the post of senior project manager for logistics and automation (IT) projects.


1985 - 1989 DAF/Leyland-DAF

- Working in a at that time dynamic, innovative and commercial active environment of a leading international truck manufacturer (DAF - Leyland DAF), he was as senior programme manager directly responsible for the 'overall' management of powertrain & vehicle development programmes upto and including the launch of the product. This includes the co-ordination of R&D, pre-manufacturing, logistics, marketing & sales and sales promotion & advertising activities. The market-introduction of a series of heavy trucks, at that time declared as "Truck of the Year", and the successful introduction of a so-called "on board" computer system (project with Eureka status) are demonstrable examples of successful commercial operations. As such he reported directly to the Board.
- At the same time with the latter company, he held the post of Project Co- ordinator New Corporate Identity (the world-wide introduction of a new house style). As such he reported directly to the Board.

1989 - 1991 Royal Frans Maas Group

- As Business Logistics Manager of a leading world-wide logistics service company (Royal Frans Maas Group), he was responsible for the management (acquisition upto and including implementation) of European and world-wide logistics projects.
- As such he was also project-responsible for the LOGIMAX project (Eureka status), a very advanced European EDI "hub & spoke" goods flow control network.

1991- 1994 NEHEM Consulting Group

- As manager/senior consultant logistics of the business unit Logistics &
Information of a multinational consultancy company he was responsible for turnover/result and sales. He was also member of the management team of this company.

1994 - 1999 CMG (Computer Management Group)

- With ICT company CMG, he acted as senior consultant within the
market segment distribution-logistics and transport.

1999 – 2001 Activity Consolidated

With Activity Consolidated he acted as senior program manager being
responsible for the following international programs:

- The intermodal 'Freshshuttle Rotterdam-Moscow' project:
The development and implementation of a fast, reliable and innovative railshuttle service between Rotterdam and Moscow especially developed for the transport of perishable agricultural products). This includes the development of a multimodal transport management system supported by Satellite Tracking & Tracing of containers.
This Public Private Co-operation project has been nominated by the
European Union for the 'European Intermodal Award for Best
Practice 2000'.

- The Bristol Light Rail Project: the development and implementation of
the 'Greater Bristol Light-Rail Network (a so called Public Private
Co-operation' infrastructural program in the UK).

2001 – present PAC Projectadvisors

Senior Program Manager responsible for the development and implementation of multinational car manufacturer Ford's European Container Tracking/Management program, covering all 29 European plants of Ford, Jaguar and Volvo and their approximately 3.500 suppliers all over the globe.
Results:
- Zero production stoppages due to lack of containers
- Premium Freight Cost decreased company-wide by 75%
- Process received an international implementation award

- Advising multinational industrial companies regarding rationalization of their distribution network and services.

- Providing (distribution) logistics advice to various, often international, transport-, production- and trade-companies (audits, quick scans, advice in "make or buy" decisions regarding outsourcing of logistics etc.).
