Willis (UK Insurance Broker) ¡V Global Service Platform Implementation
The company created an operations unit to manage the post sales servicing and processing activities of insurance on a global basis (over 45 countries). I held a number of strategic visioning workshops in which the aspirations for the business were developed. I am currently responsible for leading a team of consultants to further develop the vision into future processes, i.e. how the business will operate in the ¡¥brave new world.¡¦

De Nederlandsche Bank (Dutch Central Bank) ¡V Banking Performance Initiative
Analysis of annual reports and other publicly available data identified stark differences in the performances of the largest banks in the UK and The Netherlands. DNB required an understanding of how much the performance gap accounted for and what the major structural and non-structural causes were. I led a small team of Research Consultants in both countries to gather and analyse publicly available data, after which we modelled various facets of the problem: differences in product pricing in the two countries, ¡¥environmental¡¦ factors and market behaviours. The study and the results were presented to the Regulator of the DNB and were published in DNB¡¦s Quarterly Report March 2003.

The Council of Mortgage Lenders (UK Trade Association) ¡V Mortgage Retention Campaign
I managed a PA team of 12 consultants conducting a study on customer churn in the UK mortgage market in conjunction with the Council of Mortgage Lenders. As well as assisting with interviewing participants and feeding back results, I played a key role in applying my project management skills and industry knowledge to managing the study, designing the survey, interpreting the findings, developing the final study report and managing a 2-day conference ¡¥stop customer churn damaging your mortgage business¡¦, which was attended by over 100 delegates from the industry. The study results were published in numerous national and trade press (e.g. Financial Times, The Banker) and featured on BBC TV.

Providian National Bank (US provider of financial products) ¡V Core Systems Migration
After two years of rapid growth in the UK, Providian decided to change its core credit card management systems in order to support future business objectives. I was selected to provide expert knowledge of a core processor conversion and to advise the client project team on the best approach for a successful migration. My main responsibilities were to:
„h Design and deliver the Day 1 operating model. The model was based on the process and procedures the bank would adhere to after conversion to the new system.
„h Mobilise the business ready for conversion. Dave helped the core client project team by engaging the business heads and key subject matter experts early in the project and helping them to understand the scope of work for a successful conversion.

Royal Bank of Scotland (Scottish financial services group) ¡VCards Processing Integration
Following the merger of Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest Bank, PA Consulting provided expertise to ensure the effective integration of the two cards businesses and their safe migration onto a new IT processing platform. My specific responsibilities included:
„h Managing the development and delivery of a new front-end workflow system and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the combined group taking full advantage of streamlined / re-engineered business processes.
„h Developing and delivering the new operating model for the integrated cards business. The model capitalised on the key opportunities for improvement through automation of manual processes, seamless processing, and improved information delivery.
„h Facilitating cross-functional workshops to develop/model future business processes and capture requirements, which were a key input into test scripting, testing and training.

1998 - 2000 Shreeveport Management Consultancy (London) ¡V Consultant Change Management. Relevant projects included:

Thomson Holidays ¡V UK Business and Corporate Strategy Review
The brief was to identify ways to significantly turn around the UK business, and to refine the overall strategy for Thomson Travel Group (TTG). My main responsibilities included identifying ways of improving the product for the customer by streamlining the whole holiday experience, increasing sales and developing new business opportunities in resort.

Norwich Union Ireland ¡V Business Process Re-engineering and Cost Reduction
I was a senior member of the project team managing an ambitious Business Process Re-engineering and Cost Reduction Programme of the Pensions and Life division, including a diagnostic of the current situation, development of detailed options for improvement and production of a detailed implementation plan and blue print of the new organisation.

Marconi Electronic Systems ¡V IT Outsourcing
I was a senior member of the project team supporting the client in a nation-wide IT outsourcing project across all 37 sites. This challenging project demanded a thorough understanding of MES¡¦ objectives for outsourcing and involved the detailed definition of current IT resources, the options for re-provision and the likely impact of their re-provision.

1996 - 1998 Research International (London)
Senior Research Executive at world¡¦s largest custom market research agency. Responsibilities: full project management, integrating industry knowledge and diverse business disciplines whilst working in partnership with clients. Assisting in their choice of strategic direction, enhancing their capabilities and implementing change to improve performance. Clients I worked with on projects included: Shell, Unilever and Roche.

1996 Market & Data Management Consultancy (Berlin)
Junior Research Consultant within the international research department. Responsibilities: project management, proposal writing and marketing, client and supplier liaison, design of fieldwork material, analysis, presenting research findings in multiple languages.

1994 - 1996 Frost & Sullivan Market Intelligence Research Corporation (London)
European Research Analyst within the international research department. Responsibilities: composing topical ¡¥off the shelf¡¦ reports by drawing together knowledge of local and international markets, combined with first-hand market research data. Also project manager, i.e. supervision of projects from initial proposal composition to final deliverable(s).
