Work Experience

After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the Hogere Economische School in Amsterdam, I started my career in sales at Nashua in 1989 as a sales executive. Over a period of two years I developed myself into an able representative of the company primarily focused on developing new business. After this period in 1991 I moved into the IT sector where I worked as a corporate account manager at Borsu Systema specifically focused on selling a portfolio of hardware, software and network components to large government accounts in The Netherlands.

In 1995, I joined e-office and my activities moved towards the sale of solutions as opposite to selling products. At e-office I was responsible for selling groupware solutions and e-commerce applications based on Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange to large corporate businesses in The Netherlands.

By the beginning of 1997, I left e-office to join WorldCom. In this dynamic, fast growing and rapidly changing telecommunication environment I developed myself into a manager of various sales teams. My last role was Sales Director for the corporate market in The Netherlands where I was responsible for a headcount of 68 FTE.

September 2000, I joined Novaxess in Amsterdam as an investor and as Sales Director for the NL business unit. This company offered broadband services for Voice, Data and Internet and I grew the team from 8 sales representatives to 50. I left the company after a period of 6 months because the VC’s backed out of the additional investments required. The company went bankrupted shortly after.

After a sabbatical period of 5 months I joined McAfee Security in August 2001. Here as Regional Director I have held various sales management jobs both in The Netherlands as well as in Belgium and Luxembourg.
