· Interim General Manager for cooked poultry business with the need to make immediate significant savings. Achieved £20k per week improvements in 4 months from commencement.
· Management Coaching in operational improvements with a major UK logistics business. Worked on specific project identifying £250k p.a. improvements.
· Yield Improvement project for UK retail sea-food company identifying £2,200 per week improvements.
· Commercial project for UK food company identifying market opportunities.

Sun Valley Foods/Cargill Plc 1987 - 2002

Commercial Manager – Chicken Business Unit –Hereford 2000-2002
· Achieved a 35% increase in retail sales level in first year.
· Added value of £500K year on year through improved meat planning/utilisation.
· Increased profitability of business by £600,000 per year in second year through sales into manufacturing customers.
· Conducted an in-depth assessment of import opportunities for chicken in China. Built relationships with major Chinese chicken company and agreed business plan.
· Responsibilities included retail marketing, meat planning and co-ordination between business units and meat trading in UK and global markets.

Manufacturing Sales Acc Mgr - Turkey Products – Abergavenny, Wales 1999-2000
· Added £1m per annum profitability to business.
· Created new customer base for raw turkey meat in manufacturing sector.
· Generated opportunities for additional related turkey products and add on sales to new customer base.

Factory Operations Manager – Abergavenny, Wales (Slaughter/de-boning/retail packing) 1997- 1999
· Achieved £750K savings through downsizing and re-structuring.
· Implemented cost reduction programme in the face of unfavourable market.

Complex Manager Cargill Turkeys – Arkansas USA 1995-1997
· Achieved $1M improvement in Complex profitability. Industry benchmark reported the Plant as leader in the USA in its category. Introduced leading edge people management practices.
· Responsible for Wholebird Processing Plant, Breeding Farms, Contract Growers, Feedmill and Hatchery.

General Manager – Abergavenny Plant, Wales 1994- 1995
· Doubled the throughput of the Plant by managing a 12 month project which integrated the production from an acquired business.

Commercial Manager – Turkey Products – Hereford 1992-1994
· Member of team that introduced first fresh turkey meat range into UK retail, moving away from low value traded products to added value resulting in significant profit improvement.

Factory Manager/General Manager - Hereford/Abergavenny 1987-1992
· Commenced with Sun Valley as Operations Manager of Turkey production in Hereford.
· Turned the business from loss making situation to £2m profit within an 18 month period.
· Member of project team designing and building green-field site plant in Abergavenny Wales. Plant commissioned in 1990 to time and budget without disruption to customers.

Ross Youngs (Imperial Foods Group) 1985 – 1987

Operations Manager – Grimsby
· Responsible for Pizza, frozen battered/breaded fish and prawn packing operations. Implemented move of production from plant closure to two Grimsby Plants achieving overall savings targets of £250K per week.

Meat Plant Manager - 1985 - Ashford Kent, prior to move to Ross Youngs.
Site Planning Manager 1983 - Introduced new planning procedures to cope with increased complexity through plant changes. Managed computerised logistics system and new warehouse commissioning.
Dry Mix Plant Manager - 1981 - (soups, ready meals, catering packs). Responsible for maintaining productivity and customer service through period of major plant re-structuring and modernisation.
Assistant Personnel Manager - 1979 - Implemented Management development, safety and people management programmes.
Production Manager - 1976 - Sheffield Plant responsible for canned and dehydrated vegetable products.
