Managing Director
Responsible for the Dutch subsidiary of Software AG, the largest European based software vendor, reporting to the VP South Region. Initiated and managed a big turn-around for the Dutch subsidiary and returned toward a positive and growing P&L. Now operating as a healthy Sales & Marketing organisation. In the coming period the Services organisation will be rebuild as well.


2000 - 2003 SAS Institute in The Netherlands
Managing Director
On a P&L basis responsible for the Dutch subsidiary of SAS, worlds largest privately held software company, reporting to the VP EMEA & Asia Pacific. Local Sales & Marketing organisation of around 100 people, inclusive Technical Support, Consulting and Education.
Member of two international taskforces working on channel sales and global account management.


1990 - 2000 Oracle Corporation in The Netherlands
1997 - 2000 Director of Channel Sales & Marketing
Member of the Dutch country management team and reporting to the MD and a VP Channel Sales & Marketing within E(urope)M(iddle)E(ast)A(frica).
P&L responsibility for about 40% of the Oracle license/support/services revenue in The Netherlands. Managing a team of 55 people within the channel sales & marketing discipline.
Member of a personal taskforce of the EMEA Senior VP working on sales productivity.
1996 - 1997 Director of Applications & Technology Sales
Member of the Dutch country management team and reporting to the MD and a VP Applications EMEA and a VP Technology EMEA.
Responsible for all product & applications sales and pre-sales people and the technology & applications revenue in The Netherlands. Total managed resources is about 80 people.
1995 - 1996 Product Sales Manager
Responsible for the set up of a whole new product sales and pre-sales organisation, starting with 2 resources and ending with a team of 50 product & pre-sales people.


1994 - 1996 Consulting Manager Financial Services
Build a consulting division within the Financial Services area, starting with 20 consultants and ending with 120 consultants. Responsible for bringing in the revenue targets and people management.
1992 - 1994 Consulting Manager Distribution/Industry/Whole Sales/Retail/Local Government
Growth a consulting practice in above area’s from 15 to 45 consultants. Responsible for bringing in the revenue targets and people management.
1991 - 1992 Field Manager Distribution & Industry
Started after one year within Oracle to build a consulting practice from 5 towards 25 consultants. Responsible for bringing in the revenue targets and people management.
1990 - 1991 Project Manager
After 6 months within Oracle I started to work as a consulting sales representative, to sell projects in all markets where Oracle had presence.


1986 - 1990 Cap Gemini in The Netherlands
Started my career in the IT industry by one of the biggest SI’s in The Netherlands, to learn more about IT solutions. Started as software engineer (programming Cobol and RPG on a IBM AS/400). Grow all the way to project leader. At the moment a wanted to move into sales, there was no opportunity within Cap Gemini and I decided to leave for a more sales oriented environment.

Skills

Skills: My interest and skills are in the area of (re-)building organisations from scratch, especially in a sales (entrepreneurial) environment. I am often asked to set up new business within Oracle and/or reorganise a business unit.

As being sales end-responsible it is very interesting to map my internal experiences and management skills with customer and partner business issues. So involvement in sales cycles is absolutely key in the way I work within and manage a (sales) team.

I have a coaching style of management and I am a strong believer in empowering self-steering teams.
