1998-Feb2006 Allied Domecq Spirits and Wines

During the past 7 years I gained international controlling experience in the Spirits and Wines business. My experience includes positions in the Benelux (3 years), the Paris marketing and sales organization (2 years), and the Bristol head office (2 years).

2004-Feb 2006 IT Financial Controller, reporting to the global IT finance director
Allied Domecq PLC, Bristol, United Kingdom

Coordinating the forecasting and reporting cycle of the global IT budget.
During this period we transformed 55 local and regional IT departments into a successful global organization. I was responsible for the implementation and stabilization of the financial management systems and control frameworks.
The new matrix organization delivered full transparency in all global IT costs, and enabled us to realize annual savings of £3m.
*P&L budget £60m, capital expenditure budget £20m, 330 FTE´s.
* Management of the IT finance team. (5 reports based in 3 countries)
* Provision of timely and relevant financial management information.
* Business partner for the CIO, IT Finance Director and senior IT Management.
* Business partner for the global SSC transformation team.
* Managing the relationship with finance teams in corporate offices, and global business units.
* Experience in working within a UK-GAAP, US-GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley environment.

2001-2003 Financial Controller, reporting to the finance director
Ballantine´s Mumm Distribution, Paris, France

Managing the financial control department of the French marketing and sales organization. During my employment the company doubled profits. The growth was driven by 2 major acquisitions, product innovations and growth of the organic brands. Simultaneously we implemented SAP and changed our accounting model without incidents.
* Turnover €180m, Profit €32m, 160 FTE´s.
* Management of the control and credit control team. (4 reports)
* Responsible for the forecasting and reporting cycle of the P and L, balance sheet and cash flow. Managing the relationship with the corporate finance teams.
* Key player in a SAP go live. I mainly focused on the implementation of commercial systems and group reporting. Design and implementation of related processes.
* Integration of several acquired brands from a financial point of view.
* Financial sparring partner for the marketing and sales teams.


1998-2001 Financial Controller, reporting to the finance director
Allied Domecq Benelux, Etten Leur, The Netherlands

Supporting the finance director with all control related activities.
* Turnover €55m, Profit €9m, 90 FTE´s.
* Focused on customer/brand analysis and forecasts, and helped to improve the cooperation between the finance department and the marketing and sales teams.
* Developed business insight on a day to day basis, including weekly profit updates and forecasts.
* Managing budget cycle for brand contribution, overheads and cash flow, and agreeing them with the management team.
* Responsible for group reporting. Consolidation of the 3 Benelux ledgers.
* Writing monthly comments on performance, and preparing business review presentations.
* Leading business analyst for a restructuring of the company into 3 business units

Ongoing:various internal training courses on accounting standards (IFRS), international customer management and reward and performance management.
