Feb 2012 – Jul 2013: Director IT Business (OSS-BSS) Customer Unit North East Africa

Responsibilities and Activities:

• General Manager with P/L accountability of the unit responsible for OSS BSS solution creation and solution delivery in five countries across North East Africa: Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti and Ethiopia.
• In addition to the management of the unit also taking care as Program Director for the 3rd largest Mobile Operator in Egypt establishing delivery excellence and service offerings in the OSS-BSS domain
• Member of the Ericsson sub-region ( Customer Unit ) management team and participant in executive steering groups for key projects in the Customer Unit NEA
• Primary interface for customer C-level relationships in the OSS-BSS domain
• Responsible for a total own staff of 120 FTE and around another 100 FTE of project assigned staff from onshore and offshore teams. Direct reporting of four Program Directors assigned to each major account and two resource managers for the on-site resource pools.
Achievements:

• Overachieved Sales and Orders booked targets for 2012 with a value of 50 M Euro
• Organisation transformation based on merging the former Engagement Practice and Delivery teams into a new setup based on client-focussed customer teams supported by onshore resource pools. This resulted in increased customer satisfaction, a much more effective operational model and increased employee satisfaction.
• Renovated the project governance model in order to create effective monitoring of projects
• Restored customer satisfaction by regaining control on a number of off track crisis projects
• Successfully introduced off-shoring ( India) in the delivery model

Oct 2008 – Jan 2012: Key Account CTO / CIO

Responsibilities and Activities:

• Responsible for technology management in the Ericsson Egypt Key Account team towards the largest mobile operator in Egypt. The business volume exceeded 100 M Euro.
• Responsible to manage the technology relation between Ericsson and client across all major Telecom domains; Radio, Core, Transmission, Multi-Media. Prime interface on C-level towards the client for technology management.
• Ensured that proposed solutions resolve the client’s requirement in a differentiated, innovative and compelling way
• As a key member of the Account Management Team, I provided mentoring, coaching and guidance to the technical and project leads across multiple deals
• Provided Technical Consultancy to client engagements
• Acted as Account Manager in the domain of Consumer and Business Applications
• Facilitated the resolution of escalated solution defects and troubled projects
• Functional Management of a team of +/- 15 technology experts and solution architects for the various technology domains

• Establishment of a new SW development unit for IN applications in The Netherlands growing from four to 75 FTE in less than a year.
