Previously operating at Board level for over 10 years, creating sustainable and profitable businesses for Thomas Cook in the Leisure and Financial Services sectors worldwide, he is now a non-executive director on two boards. Throughout a varied and successful international career, he has produced impressive business results, enjoying credibility with colleagues and clients alike. Interested in facilitating better team working, clearer strategies and leaving a company (and its people) in better shape than it was found!

Successes

· As an Interim Change Manager, helped AMP to deliver significant change in the direct sales force, implementing the sales and people components of the overall programme. AMP is a leading Australian financial services company with 11,000 staff in the UK, making a profit of £178m in 2000. The situation demanded robust change management skills.

· During a spell as Interim Commercial Manager with Reason in 2000, improvements delivered in client servicing, account handling and service level agreements meant that the trading position was significantly strengthened. In addition, employee morale improved tenfold.

· Whilst Director of Travellers Cheques, delivered the most successful change programme in Thomas Cook's history, improving the performance of the cheques business by £34m profit over a 2-year period between 1997-8.

· As Director, Financial Services, Continental Europe turned around over 12 under-performing Thomas Cook businesses in Europe (improving the profits by over £8m in 1996) whilst at the same time preparing them for the impact of the euro.
