Work Experience

An experienced strategic-change consultant / senior IS director with a proven track record of success within B2B, B2C, consultancy services and project delivery within both public and private sectors within the UK, European and US markets. During his career Shaun has managed significant projects for organisations that include Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, British Railways Board and a number of Local Government Authorities and is a skilled Prince and OGC-Gateway Process practitioner.

Shaun has a proven ability to breach the culture gap between business and technology groups in order to determine the shape and delivery of IS strategy and having a strong strategic and operational focused leadership style he is highly results orientated & cost focused. In addition to Shaun’s proven functional leadership, project & programme management skills, he has significant experience in outsourcing and has managed a number of key programmes during which managed the solution design, service take-on, TUPE negotiations and contract terms as both the service provider and outsourcing party.

Most recently Shaun has been working with senior leadership teams within a number of industry sectors that include FMCG, Financial Services and Leisure on a range of Customer Management projects that centred on the issues of SOX, MiFID, Customer Centricity, Loyalty and CRM.

BOUTIQUE PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY
? Responsible for top-level consultancy within a ‘boutique’ project management practice
? Provides strategic advice on I.S. governance, programme management & compliance
? Worked with leading financial institutions across the UK and Europe on CRM initiatives that have included Loyalty, Customer Centricity and CRM tool deployment. The pre-deployment stage looked at SOX / MIFID issues and required the business case and system / data architecture to be assed for future SOX / MIFID compliance
? Successfully introduced Strategy Mapping & Balanced Scorecard initiatives with clients
? Conducted SOX reviews that included CSA (Controlled Self Assessments) and looked at Objectives, Measures, Actions and the impact on IS and Operational functions in addition to the alignment of the longer term SOX needs in respect to COSO, MIFID and COBIT. Intervention in the area of testing was also required in terms of auditing and reviewing test scripts.

Strategic Change Programme based in Chicago USA - Responsible for the closure of the Chicago based technology group, managed transition arrangement for the transfer / redundancy of staff, relocation of in-house data centre to a co-location facility and the re-organisation of technology and development group whilst still managing a 7*24 hour operational capability.
? Interim Director for Application Management and Support – Undertook a fundamental review of the Application Management and Support Group for EMAP that required significant process and organisational change and a re-work of the long range IS Strategy in conjunction with the Group IS Director.

Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) / Markets in Financial Instrument Directive (MiFID) / Unbundling – Reviewed the implementation issues for each the afore mentioned from both technology and business perspectives, MiFID and Unbundling are both possibly the most challenging regulatory changes currently facing the financial services sector in terms of interpretation and application.
