Work Experience

During the period 2000 – 2004 I have initiated and realised some major projects;

ReThink! Management Support B.V.
ReThink is a cooperation in which approximately ten specialised and independent professionals are working together and offer their individual and/or combined services on interim- and project base to clients from their combined network. ReThink! is unique within the Dutch retail market. Based on a “one stop shopping” concept, clients can hire structural or temporary problem solving capacity from specialists. They only “meet” one account manager which they already know and are familiar with. I created this concept, wrote the business plans for it and created the infrastructure for it.

Vobis Microcomputer BV & Vobis Components BV
50 franchise- and own shops, “Business to Business” department, own distribution channel, subdivision of an international company (Vobitech). Realised a turn-around procedure: Reorganised the company based on which profitability and continuity improved. Restructured the organisational- and commercial concept and strategy. Acquisition of new franchisees and opening new stores. “Refreshed” all external (promotional) issues and contacts.

Batavia Stad Factory Outlet Shopping, Management BV
I build the Management Company for this first Factory Outlet Centre in the Netherlands. Batavia Stad consists of 70 “A-branded” fashion outlets and restaurants that are paying “turnover related rent”. In my responsibility we created and realised: commercial initiatives and activities, area (traffic) management, human resources management, Marketing, Logistics, Operations. Besides this, we took responsibility for all kind of cultural activities, external contacts and relations like e.g. local and provincial government, chamber of commerce, local social associations, inhabitants of (local) community, promotional activities (incl. lobby) to different concerned (political) relations and acquisition of (potential) tenants

Retail chain, three Mega stores, Business to Business- & e-commerce department, 80 employees.
- Revitalised commercial concept, restructured organisational structure and procedures and changed loss making results into profitable ones.

Italy…ssimo
I wrote the (franchise) concept for the European countries. Italy…ssimo is a concept in which food (including a unique Italian restaurant) is combined with non-food. Besides this, typical Italian products are sold within this chain of shops. Entering an Italy…ssimo shop is like visiting Italy! Italy…ssimo is founded in order to create a unique market for a consortium of 40 Italian manufacturers and suppliers. Italy…ssimo shops are located in Stockholm, Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Munich and Amsterdam.

- Responsible for marketing (controlling) of Makro the Netherlands.
- Analysing and strengthen the positioning of the commercial and operational (Dutch) Concept & Strategy
