Jan 99 Horton International (UK) Ltd
Nov 99 Sales and Marketing Manager
Operational Support and Resources Manager

Horton International is a global Executive Search company with 44 offices worldwide.
I was originally brought back from Thailand to work on an in-house project related to launching a subsidiary company working in the e-Business-training field. I was approached to do this job because of my past experience in “needs based selling”. I was tasked with setting up a database of target companies, developing the approach to the market and making the initial approaches to the target companies. Therefore, in terms of selling, I conducted the selling process from cold calling to discussions with managing directors. This included liaison with a PR Company and setting up an initial website and managing the logistics of the programmes offered.
For various reasons this project was taken out of house and underwent some strategic changes. References’ regarding my success and professionalism in this role are available.
At this point my skills both in general management and IT were recognised and I was invited to take up a new post as Operational Support and Resources Manager and to move the company, internal systems and staff, to a higher plane than their current skills allowed them to achieve. This included managing the computer network, training on the bespoke database and windows 98/NT systems. I also devised a system of Standard Operating Procedures and conducted an audit of 22 cost centres within the company. Additionally I took on the in-house role for specialised research in aid of the search function. I also, because of prior experience, acted as the Health & Safety Advisor to the board. This phase has now been completed.

I also acted as the Health and Safety Advisor to the Director of NSTDA and the Executive Board. Additionally I was a member of the agency Foresight Group feeding directly into the APEC Foresight Centre, which was co-located in our building.
