He has a wide expertise in European Distribution Management both as a project Manager and as Logistics Manager. He has built experience in the set up of logistics operations (inbound- and outbound) and pan-European distribution network systems in the field of consumer electronics, automotive spare parts, retail and FMCG. He has experience in design, selection and implementation of logistics systems and organisations. He has profound experience with in- and outsourcing projects by 3rd party logistics providers. He has led European projects in domains going from operational strategy development up to system implementation.


His particular domains of expertise are warehouse design, logistics process engineering, transport, distribution planning and (re)design of European Distribution Networks in all its aspects.

Peter’s assignments & experiences include:

• Supply Chain Performance Improvement

o Process, performance and systems improvement project of an EDC for automotive after sales spare parts.
o Review and optimisation of the processes, performance and systems of an EDC for consumer electronics after sales spare parts.
o Re-allocation of a European spare parts center for electronic components, by closing down the original warehouse in France and implementation of a new operation in Belgium.
o Development of intelligent and flexible packing concepts for the distribution of large electronic devices.
o Inbound Logistics for parts to production environment – Setup of EDI between the different parties involved.

• Logistics Operations Management

o Operational management of an EDC, including re-engineering of the physical and administrative processes as well cost- and budget control for a distributor of photographical equipment
o Operational management of a shared logistics center (logistics service provider) serving multiple national, Benelux and European distribution centers within the consumer electronic, chemicals, automotive and retail industry. Responsibilities in the field of budget control and financial results, commercial relationships, development of new business opportunities, strategic management.
o Operational management of a trafic department providing a national distribution network, closed inter-factory network, international road transport and maritime and airfreight forwarding.
o Implementation of multi-modal solutions (barge) for inbound trafic from Rotterdam and Antwerp port.


• Distribution Logistics

o Setup and implementation of a centralized distribution center for the German, French and Benelux market for a shoe retailer. Closing down Munich and Bordeaux warehouse.
o Implementation of an EDC for electronic devices (watches, calculators and musical instruments), including full European distribution network and postponed manufacturing.
o Implementation of an EDC for after-sales spare parts of a manufacturer of office equipment.
o Implementation of an international distribution center including design and implementation of the improvements in management, warehousing, procurement, customer service for a shoe manufacturer.
o Integration of a reverse logistics process for a manufacturer of electronic office equipment.
o Implementation of post-poned manufacturing processes and (re-)packing activities : assembly, re-works, kitting and setting, technical modifications, repairs, refurbishing.

• Strategical Ressource Planning

o Strategical study on European EDC/RDC implant concepts for the warehousing and distribution of consumer products.
o Construction projects for warehouses and cross-dock facilities.
o Design and implementation of warehouse and logistics facilities including traditional storage systems, temperature controlled areas, platforms, shelf racking, automated conveyor systems, sorting systems, automated packing systems, life storage systems, handling equipment, ….
o Tender & Selection process for the procurement of transport & logistics services.

• Management Accounting

o Cost-calculations for logistics and distribution activities.
o Cost balance and cost-saving projects.

• Information Systems

o Project management for IT projects within the full scale of logistics processes (Dedicated, bonded and public warehousing) and transport (Road, Sea and Air) in Germany and Benelux.
o Implementation of a bonded warehouse functionality (type D & E) within an existing WMS
o Projects on EDI interfaces between the different market leading ERP/MRP systems and logistics and transport applications.

He is also regular speaker on logistics seminars and events.
