Coordinated and managed a team of people to assemble relevant data and evidence to successfully negotiate with LandRover. Results recovery of £100,000 and streamlining of the logistics and ‘obsolescent claims’ procedures.

Conceptualised a control procedure to organise the financial transactions for a small voluntary business, and implementing the procedure through persuasion and cooperation of the members. Introducing measures to improve their cash flow, devising and initiating a simple financial report that non-financially cognoscente members could understand. Result . Improved financial control of the business finances including the negotiation of a £20,000 unsecured bank overdraft facility against an annual turnover of £120,000.

Planned coordinated and managed the introduction of a cross college strategy for the economic delivery of mathematics, ensuring client entitlement was fulfilled. Scheduling human and physical resources, whilst monitoring and administering the governments requirements to ensure Government criteria for payment to be met. Result. A coherent strategy with clear guideline on the provision of mathematics which eliminated duplication and improved staff utilisation by 20%.

Observed, manufacturing and transactional problems, initiating data collection processes which through mathematical analysis enables root causes to be identified and hence provide a robust solution and sustainable gains to the Lear using Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies. Result. An overall saving of £100,000, improved customer satisfaction, and controlled processes and procedures in line with QS9000.

Initiated the sub-division of tasks, to enable the team to effectively and efficiently complete the initial production release of the Rover R8 wiring harness drawings. Had the late changes from Honda not been incorporated in a timely manner the start of production would have been delayed with several hundred operators at Longbridge standing idol on a day for day slippage.

Analysed the functional content of the Rover 200 wiring harnesses and reduced the part number complexity by 10%, thus saving £150,000 in administration and warehouse space, as well as minimising the opportunities for build errors.

Motivated a team of design engineers to successfully package the electrical distribution system for Jaguar’s X350 Saloon vehicle, using 3D computer imaging, having researched the optimum solution, through competitive benchmarking. Negotiating and persuading other engineers to compromise their position where necessary. Result : Cost avoidance of $50 per vehicle and an on time solution.

Designed and implemented an off the shelf after market In Vehicle entertainment system for AWD Ltd, Result : Increased After- Sales Revenue by <5%, whilst avoiding the costs of a proprietary system.

Researched and investigated reasons for the lack of improvement in the Jaguar warranty system, identifying areas of duplication and non-value added activities. Results reduction in human resources and highlighted opportunities for applying the data already collected, as part of initial improvements which has enabled Jaguar to improve its JD Powers (Quality) score – important to US customers when buying premium.
