Role Responsible for one thousand cabin crew operating on 36 aircraft based at Gatwick, and for the development of a team capable of directing & delivering superb customer service aligned to BA’s vision. Working closely with ground based customer service groups and catering suppliers.

Challenges Managing an expansion programme that doubled the work force within the period of one year. Constantly challenging and transforming attitudes and processes to meet the needs of a rapidly changing market place. Managing to a £23 million budget.

ENGINEERING COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT MANAGER - EUROPE April 95 - Aug. 96

Role Managing a portfolio of customer accounts, raising contracts and ensuring financial viability of each account.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE MANAGER July 1991 -March 93

Role Responsible for one of the two major maintenance hangars located at LHR for B747 aircraft. Accountable for manpower resources, training, budget monitoring and all facilities located within area to ensure on time completion of checks,

Challenges Project managing the B747 passenger video installation, ensuring implementation was planned effectively and practical technical specifications reduced the down time and man-hours to a minimum.

Project manager of a 5 month major maintenance input for a privately owned Middle Eastern executive B747. Involved planning and co-ordinating activities of many BA internal departments, contract negotiations with external suppliers. Value of project in excess of £4M.


REGIONAL ENGINEERING MANAGER MID/SOUTH ENGLAND & IRELAND 1986 - 1991

Role Based in Birmingham, responsible for all Engineering / Technical Operations at Birmingham, Belfast, Jersey, Cardiff, Coventry, East Midlands, Dublin, Cork and Shannon.

Prime area of responsibility was providing safe, punctual aircraft ( 13 ) to the Birmingham Regional Business Unit. Financially accountable for the two million pound annual engineering budget. Manpower budget of over 100 staff.

Challenges A member of the Birmingham Board of Management with collective responsibility for the operation and financial success of the business.

Expanding the maintenance capability of the Birmingham engineering unit by 100% over a period of 3 years by reorganising staff structure/shift systems, refurbishing the hangar, building a new engineering control unit and implementing a major ground equipment replacement programme. Involved in the specification and design of the new Euro Hub terminal at Birmingham.



STATION MAINTENANCE MANAGER AMMAN/ SINGAPORE 1980 - 1986

Role Managed the day to day Engineering operation. Duties included the engineering and certification of B747,L1011,B707 & SVC10 aircraft, raising of the local engineering budget and establishing a cost-effective operation. Providing direct customer service support when appropriate.
