1 MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW
Mark Webb has over 20 years experience in the IT industry involved in all aspects from Technical to Sales and Marketing. Mark has held the positions of Support Director, Sales and Marketing Director, International Sales Director and Managing Director in a variety of companies ranging from start-up to large blue chip organisations. Mark has worked all over the world with extensive experience in the USA, Europe (East and West) and South Africa.

Equally at home in large multi-nationals or SMEs, managing Senior Managers, Consultants, Programme/Project Managers or Technical Staff, Mark has always been able to use his breadth of experience to the best benefit of both organisation and staff, exceeding targets and building motivated and focused teams.
Examples of this include:
the successful formation of an Enterprise Solutions Division, taking it from zero to £3,200,000 with a Net Profit of £250,000 in just under three years
the expansion of an embryonic Management Consultancy and Solution Provider from a turnover of £800,000 and net profit of £300,000 to a turnover of £2,100,000 and net profit of £630,000 in under one and a half years
the management and development of a 140 strong Support and Consultancy Division

Managed a £100 million bid to the CEGB for software / hardware solutions. The team comprised of senior engineering, sales, support and corporate management liasing with European managers and third parties. The bid itself covered all aspects of Tandem: - hardware, software, LANs, WANs, environmental, third party software, database sizing, performance, contractual, pricing, project management and implementation. As bid manager I also conducted major presentations both to the prospect and corporate management based in Cupertino, USA. I designed and managed the benchmark (conducted at Tandem’s headquarters in Cupertino) which involved a third party team writing the application. I also vetted and managed the reference visits to many sites in the USA both prior to and during the CEGB visits
Sitting on the Operating Board of the UK company, Mark was responsible for:

Responsible for design of Corporate Package (Time and Attendance). (First major Corporate Software to be developed outside USA). Responsible for liaison with USA and Europe. Headed UK project team of 4 in-house plus several software house resources. Spent 3 months heading a project team of 7 in USA completing additional developments. Experience of conducting major presentations in USA, Germany and Denmark. Extensive involvement in marketing strategy for this project and pre-sale work on a consultative basis, acting as a consultant to European NCR Management (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland and UK). Responsible for budgetary control of projects, quoting and scheduling of resources also for performance reviews of supervised personnel

Project Manager for the Brewery Sector. Total responsibility for all aspects of this retail system including software development, communications, software, field engineering activity, pre-sale/post-sale work, etc. Due to the business needs of customer, timescales for latter phases of development were very ambitious. Resource levels with requisite level of knowledge were low in UK; therefore Mark took the entire development to USA, Atlanta, Georgia. This entailed recruitment in USA plus contractors and NCR staff from UK, total organisation of not only application development but also accommodation, furniture rental, car rental, subsistence etc.
