Marketing & PR manager Shira Europe B.V.

Shira Europe BV was the sales and technical support office for Europe of Shira Computers Ltd., based in Kfar Saba, Israel. Shira develops and markets production and connectivity software for the graphical industry. The applications were distributed through a network of European dealers and distributors. In 1998 we achieved a growth of 250% but the development departments proved not to be able to deliver stable applications. The result was that Shira had to close her offices in Europe and Japan.

Tasks:
Screening of new partners, contacts with OEM’s,development and implementation sales programs, coordination and development of all European communication activities, product development.
Budget responsibility:
The European marketing budget.
Reporting:
The VP marketing and the European managing director.

Temporary Agency Start

Pasklaar is a joint venture between Start, governmental employment offices and regional schooling institutes. The focus is to find students and to keep them under contract during they’re internships. I started the office on one of the schools in Nieuwegein, from day one. All deadlines were met as well as the initial sales target.

Besides the regular commercial activities as a recruiter in a temp office I initiated and coordinated a successful technical department. Due to these initiatives START and AVAL (training school for metal workers) started a joint-venture. Next to that I assisted as a trainer in a young criminals program. On a regional level I was the Account Manager for Schuitema (A Dutch supermarket chain)

I started as a European tele marketeer for a US based editor and grew from a junior sales rep to a senior new business account manager for Nashuatec (Copy- and faxmachine vendor).

African wildlife and culture I try to travel at least 4 weeks a year in Africa. Usually on my own.
