• Re-structuring of finance support for the growing European business such that “right skill-set” in “right place”, in terms of risk management, transaction processing and business partnering
• Re-organisation of European finance team, including setting up of Shared Service Centre and migration of financial processes from satellite-teams in Europe to centre in Amsterdam
• Business modelling, costing, advice and contract pricing for “Greenfield” business start-up in Denmark including “hands-on” definition and set-up of financial processes and local business support, from negotiation with Danish unions to setting up of support systems for local management

• Redefinition and development of financial processes enabling required information to be derived in the most efficient manner such that people were enabled to work on forward – focused, value – add activities.

Special Projects
• Responsible for the preparation of the financial case used to support an application for a freight facilities grant awarded by the UK central government. This was a successful application resulting in the largest grant awarded to date by the government at 6.7 million pounds, which afforded many environmental benefits to the company and its locality.
• Leading and co-ordinating the first phase of the financial systems integration of the newly - acquired Dutch branch from Akzo Nobel Chemicals resulting in our transferring to our own systems within target after acquisition.
• Responsible for the preparation and assimilation of historical financial information required during the due diligence undertaken prior to Brunner Mond’s change of ownership in 1998.
