MAR 1998 TO APR 1999 - Project Consultant, Sony Europe GmbH, Cologne

Sony Europe GmbH is the holding company for Sony Corporation\'s European consumer electronics business - it also employs a 10+ strong, SAP R/3 project support team. As a team member deployed on a number of projects: recommended process and system enhancements; guided development of financial and project system applications; trained staff; prepared feasibility study for Shared Service Centre.

MAY 1994 TO FEB 1998 - Planning Manager, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, London (Turnover: $1+ Billion, Staff: 400)

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is a subsidiary of Sony Corporation and responsible for the \"PlayStation\" business outside of the Far East and North America. As a project team member during start-up, instrumental in: designing and implementing product and transactional flows; structuring the European finance organisation; and developing commercial and operational policies. Other responsibilities included: managing the planning department; financial oversight of 5 legal entities; negotiating and reviewing 3rd party contracts; controlling $65 million marketing budget; and various ad hoc projects, e.g. helping improve financial processes and restructure Chart of Accounts (US GAAP) to meet aggressive reporting deadlines.

AUG 1991 TO MAY 1994 - Finance Director - Retail & Education, Compass Services (UK) Ltd., London (Combined Turnover: £45+ Million, Staff: 1000)

Compass Services (UK) Ltd., a subsidiary of Compass Group plc, provides catering services to 3rd parties and has specialist retail and education divisions. For both divisions: responsible for finance, strategy, contracts, systems and purchasing activities; central role in business development and business retention activities; and various ad hoc projects, e.g. due diligence reviews. Developed operational and financial bid template for new Education sector.

JUL 1988 TO AUG 1991 - Corporate Analyst, Rank Leisure Ltd., London (Turnover: £115+ Million, Staff: 1500)

Rank Leisure Ltd., a subsidiary of Rank Group plc, operates 100+ entertainment venues throughout the UK. Initially employed by Mecca Leisure plc as Commercial Manager but promoted to Corporate Analyst. Transferred to Rank after Mecca acquisition. Team- member during Mecca\'s due diligence, acquisition and integration of Pleasurama plc. Helped plan and co-ordinate defence strategy during Rank\'s acquisition of Mecca.
Other responsibilities included: operational management support; benchmarking and KPI\'s; business planning; managing multi-site accounting department; managing EPOS roll-out; and various ad hoc projects, e.g. developing financial controls, policies and procedures.
