2003 – present: Partner of InnovationPower. This group of advisors aims at professional support and intensified marketing/acquisition in several areas. 2003 – present: Secretary/Treasurer of the Foundation University Chair: Transport Phenomena through Structured Material at the University of Twente.2001 – present: Co-founder and -owner of Perdix Technologies, a company aimed the support and development of high tech enterprises rooted in knowledge intensive developments. Emphasis: Chemical process industry.2000 – present. At present I operate as an independent advisor. I conduct coaching and support activities in the fields of R&D/Innovation. Mainly in the medium sized enterprises. Company: Management Advice~Techne, founded in 20022000 – present. Managing Director/ Major shareholder GJ Beheer BV.1996 – 2000. R&D Director at Stork Textile Printing Group, part of the Stork concern.Responsible for the organization and definition of a cluster of market driven innovation projects. Based on intensive collaboration between Stork companies and partners from outside Stork.Strong focus on modern management of innovation, commercial value creation processes, coaching, introduction of ICT systems, knowledge management and management of change.Contents: Product development, mechanical, chemical formulations, IT integration.1998 – 1999. President of the Dutch textile Institute. An additional job with quite some pr activities aimed at promoting the textile industry in The Netherlands and improving its image. Objective was to get young people interested in working in the textile industry. 1998 – 1999. Member of the board of Textile Research Association "de Voorzorg".1998 – 1999. International Network Advisor. Meaning: Chairperson of the industrial steering committee of the European Textile Research organization Euratex.

1993-1996. Unilever Research Laboratory at Vlaardingen, NL, Divisional Manager Detergents R&D and head of Technology Options Unit at Port Sunlight, UK. This was a senior management function in the Unilever R&D organization.The combination of responsibilities made it a strongly business oriented R&D function. Particularly since the membership of the “Strategic Supplier Management Group”, SSMG was a part of this responsibility. As a Divisional manager, I managed the Detergents R&D division at Vlaardingen with 125 scientists and assistants. Budget: 43 Mfl.Being the Head of TOU, a group of 16 managers in our Research lab at Port Sunlight and a Senior manager at Edgewater, NJ, I was responsible for all our contacts and strategic alliances with the principal raw material suppliers. I exclusively dealt with them on the highest management levels and organized joint projects and alliances. In addition, I was responsible for the design of the alliance policy of our R&D organization. As a member of the SSMG, I was part of a globally operating group of senior buyers. This group coordinated an decided the business side of the alliances, raw material supplies, effects on cost prices, international contracts and the like.
1989-1993. Lever Industrial International, (nowadays: Diversey Lever, recently sold to SC Johnson) part of Unilever, at Maarssen and Enschede, The Netherlands. Development Executive. International management pivot function within two business areas and as member of two Business Area Teams responsible for the development of these areas. I managed 6 development groups in Maarssen and Enschede, the Netherlands. Because of the strategic successes and because of my role in various (re-) organization-working group I was asked to become Divisional manager at Vlaardingen. Content: Formulation and production research of formulated products

1988-1989. Otares BV, part of Sara lee/DE, at Enschede, The Netherlands. Manager R&D. Management of the R&D units for the international development of industrial and institutional cleaning and maintenance products (± 20 people). Business Development job on the edge of R&D, technology and business. In 1989, Lever Industrial acquired Otares.Contents: Formulation development, initial production, packaging research, trouble shooting, value engineering. 1985-1988. Organon Int. BV, (AKZO Pharma) Section leader of the section Non Solids of the Pharmaceutical R&D of Organon. Management of three R&D groups that investigated all aspects of solutions and semi solid formulations for active compounds (Pharmaceuticals). Emphasis on organization and management, leading three group leaders.1984-1989. Foundation and 50% co-ownership of BIOCERAMICS BV, an enterprise aimed at selling kneadable hydroxylapatite and implants. My involvement ended in 1989.1983-1987. Research in the subject of Kneadable hydroylapatite together with JCs. This material could be applied for filling defects in jawbone. 1981-1985. Organon Int. BV, part of AKZO Pharma, at Oss, The Netherlands. Group leader in the section Non-solids of the Pharmaceutical R&D labs. My task was to execute Research and Development in the fields of non-solid dosage forms for pharmaceuticals. Content: formulation research, analytical research, Physico chemical R&D.
