Work Experience

1. Sales Director/marketing Director
Management of software house which produced and maintained an internationally oriented ERP package. Users were located mainly in Holland and China.
Setup new sales channels within three main areas: Existing customers, new customers in The Netherlands and new customers in Asia (China, Korea, India, and Bangladesh). Due to problems within the organisation I took over the general management of the organisation earlier than planned. In the organization there were two main problems that needed to be tackled. The first was the termination of a costly and time-consuming customer project and secondly finding new ways to give the company a broader base for its continued existence.
In order to guarantee the continuity of the company three product focussing activities were defined and established. The first activity was to continue to support existing customers of the in-house product ASPAS but also to search for a new product within the ERP segment in order to retain continuity in this sector. The second activity consisted of creating a one stop service point for small and medium sized businesses, whereby all their IT issues, from consultation to implementation, were supported. The third activity consisted of setting up an ASP service. This service is used by Employment Agencies to calculate salaries, produce salary slips and invoices, and run a back-office application.

2. Managing Director Owner
Set up change management systems in multinational organisations where the integration of multiple software packages into one was a major issue, implemented software maintenance and development methodologies and defined best practice processes and procedures. Undertook several feasibility studies on usage of software packages within the context of the business.
Devised and ran tailor-made courses for the implementation of Change Management software in client organisations.

3. Director / Partner - International Software Sales & Marketing and Project consultancy
Set up sales and marketing organisation in Western Europe and established dealer network in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium and Denmark. Successfully implemented complex change management procedures within multinational organisations. Implemented five ‘Year 2000’ projects. Managed staff in Holland and restructured Indian software house, building it from 3 to 35 programmers. Chairman of the Dutch User Group of SDW.
Managed project team in India for technical rebuild of software.
Trained staff and coordinated projects with Indian sister company.
Alongside product sales I was also responsible for the successful implementation of the software within various organisations. The implementation was mainly carried out by group training and individual coaching. I was the main driving force behind an automatic link between mid-range reverse engineering tool and the CASE tool, COOLBIZ, formerly known as ADW. Managed the relationship between Knowledgeware/Sterling Software, employees, technical staff, and customers.
Introduced a software development toolset specifically for integration of mid-range systems with pc programs. Recommended and implemented software tools. Undertook software assessment projects where there was a critical link between current software packages and off-the-shelf packages. Redesigned software functions.
